Vince Gilligan Discloses He Has a Plan for How The Apple TV+ Show Will End... For Now.

Vince Gilligan did not foresee that his new science-fiction series would become a cultural phenomenon. “I am so grateful to the audience,” he states. “It was unexpected the show being as passionately debated as it is, and it makes me deliriously happy.”

As the debut season of the acclaimed program coming to an end—and Season 2 greenlit and underway—the creative team reflected on the fan response and whether it will influence the future direction of Pluribus.

About the Tremendous Viewer Reception

Anyone might to get sidetracked by the widespread acclaim and fan theories about Pluribus. He is making a conscious effort to ignore the noise.

“It feels like force fed hot fudge sundaes and being laughing uncontrollably,” he says. “It's amazing, but I hear about it from others, and that's on purpose. Never in my life searched for my own name online, nor do I ever want to. It's not a lack of interest. It's a deep trap I know I would disappear down and then I'd be never leaving the house from the hardware store and I'd never leave my living room.”

Regardless of Gilligan’s best intentions, there’s no way to avoid the extremely enthusiastic response to the series. The best he and his team can do is to accept it graciously and try not to let it alter the course of the show.

“We don't try to adjust our writing,” says writer and executive producer Alison Tatlock. “Our storytelling is not changed by audience chatter.”

“It's wiser to keep our noses to the grindstone,” Gilligan concludes.

The Central Mystery: Has the creator Know the Ending of Pluribus?

Considering the creative staff are not listening by fan response, does it imply they have mapped out how Pluribus will reach its endpoint? Essentially yes… sort of.

“There are some potential directions about the ultimate destination,” Gilligan reveals. “but we are always ready to abandon a solid concept for a superior concept. That philosophy has guided us in good stead on Better Call Saul and on Breaking Bad even before that. We change course when we get a better idea and I imagine we will be doing that.”

On the other hand, if plans fall through, executive producer Gordon Smith has a humorous idea to fall back on.

“My recurring proposal is that everything takes place within a snow globe, and that we'll zoom out in the finale and the characters are inside it,” Smith jokes, “though the idea hasn't gained traction.”

Of course, why mess with the iconic TV endings?

“I'd love for Carol to awaken with Bob Newhart there,” he jokes.

Pluribus is currently available on Apple TV.
