I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.
Former twice world title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
