Almost 55,000 families have reportedly been impacted by the storms, with their possessions and temporary homes ruined.

Heavy precipitation over the recent period have intensified the extremely difficult living conditions of the hundreds of thousands of displaced civilians in the Gaza Strip, according to humanitarian organizations.

"Horrendous" Conditions Brings Severe Dangers

"These conditions was exceptionally difficult for the families. The storms were so strong... And the gales were so powerful," noted the official.

There is grave anxiety that minors sheltering in makeshift shelters in wet garments will succumb to hypothermia and various illnesses.

Fatalities and Significant Loss

The health ministry have confirmed that one baby has succumbed from hypothermia and no fewer than 11 other people have died in structural failures caused by the harsh conditions.

Further statements put a greater number of casualties. Spokespeople stated that multiple homes had collapsed completely and many others had been partly destroyed.

  • Roughly 55,000 families harmed by rains.
  • More than 40 designated safe spaces submerged.
  • Countless residents required to find new shelter.

Aid Efforts Deemed Not Enough

Agencies have stepped up shipments of tarpaulins, bedding and clothing after the halt in hostilities started, but they have said there is still not enough aid getting in.

"Officials are striving constantly to deliver that aid and to hand it out, but the scale of the necessities is so vast that we are faced with thousands of people and minors who are truly suffering each evening," warned one spokesperson.

Future Challenges and Ceasefire Plans

The next stage of the truce includes proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the withdrawal of personnel, and other provisions.

Aid organizations have underscored the necessity for "expanded and ongoing humanitarian assistance to respond to pressing and ongoing requirements."

The war was initiated by an offensive in October 2023. Subsequent campaigns have led to a substantial number of lives lost in the region, according to health ministry reports.
