Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a former physician has been charged with carrying out assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
